Hanl-Ul FC was founded in 1988 as a Korean-American soccer club. Since it's inception the team has grown in many ways. We want to give special recognition to our two FOUNDING MEMBERS along with some of the LONG STANDING MEMBERS that have Han-Ul blood, sweat, and passion flowing through them. Thank you for all that you do for our club and the community!
Kwan Bom is one of the original founders of the team and has been with Han-Ul since its inception in 1988. He lives and breathes Han-Ul soccer and is one of the players we can count on showing up to practice every week for the past 36 years. He also has an amazing cross and infectious smile. Keep smiling and running up those sidelines Ahjussi while setting a great example for all of us to aspire to!
Sung Han is the other original founder of the team since its inception in 1988. There must be something required about being a founding member and having a massive smile each week. It really shows how much he loves the game and his Han-Ul family. His speed, strength, and toughness for an Ahjussi is astonishing and admiring to all. One time, during a tournament, he was hit in the face with a ball. When the nose bridge of his glasses got embedded in his skin such that he couldn't actually remove his glasses without pulling off his skin, he was rushed to the ER and STILL managed to smile at the situation. To all the young Han-Ul members, take note!
Sung Yong deserves special recognition for being a great teammate and platinum patron, donating substantially to Han-Ul FC over the decades to help build the club. He also wins the longest drive distance award as he has been traveling from Monterrey to San Jose for practice each week for the past three decades.
Steve is a long time player and former club president. He is the father of the Han-Ul LEGEND, Tony Chang. He remains a guiding figure and will always make time to say hello at tournaments and practices.
Han is has been with Han-Ul since 1989 and is really one of the most respected leaders of the team. He's had numerous roles in the organization including head coach (manager).
Jae Euk is probably the most humble member we have on the team, yet he takes on a huge responsibility each week and commits his time and energy to helping the B-Team thrive, as well as teach the younger generation. He also is a one of the hardest running players on the pitch and his energy is contagious. Well done!
Chang Su is one of the most animated and passionate players and was also one of our former club presidents. If you show up to practice, you're bound to see Chang Su on the field.
Duk is not only a Han-Ul LEGEND, he was president of the club. He began with the team around age 14 years old and has been going strong over the decades.
